The temperature sensor is located beside the thermostat housing and measures the temperature of the coolant and relays that to your temperature gauge. If you think that your temperature gauge is inaccurate, it may be that the temperature sensor is faulty. The sensor is subjected to the heat of the coolant and over time may cause the sensor to become less accurate and eventually, it may fail.

There are a number of parts in the cooling system which may be the cause of cooling issues, other than a lack of coolant. For example, a faulty thermostat will prolong the time it takes for your engine to heat up. A broken fan switch will increase the likelihood of overheating, by failing to turn the fan on once a certain temperature is reached - think being stuck in traffic, where your radiator doesn’t get any natural airflow.

We also stock the Honda fan switches and thermostats, as well as a Japanese aftermarket thermostat.

Honda part number: 37750-PC1-004 (37750PC1004).
